The Rubber Lamp was created by the interest in the interior and exterior of a product. The table lamp consists of two parts: the internal construction (flexible steel rod, Switches and electrical components) and a silicone outer skin. The outer shape protects the internal parts are the lamp and a warm and organic feel. Since there is no reason for the change in anonymous form is designed to maintain this.

Thomas Schnur (Rubber Lamp designer) has the following completion of training as a cabinetmaker, product design Fachhochschule Aachen studied. During his studies he worked for Mathieu Lehanneur in Paris and studied at the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Saint Etienne . His work has been presented at numerous national and international platforms of design. Including the IMM Cologne , Maison et Objet Paris , Salone del Mobile, Milan , ICFF New York and Hong Kong BODW .

"In my projects I always try negotiating with the product to be designed to occur. I negotiate on the weight of material, production, form, meaning and function. I divide the task into their properties and meanings. Subsequently analyzed, evaluated, and I construct the idea. It is important to me that often stemming from fragments of familiar products, despite their cross-references develop a high degree of autonomy. So they let associations, but also develop the potential to be a standalone product. "
