In 1939, 6-7 years after inventing the world's first liquid dampened orienteering compass, the team at Silva introduced the "Model 1939." This new innovation paired the liquid dampened capsule and clear base plate together with a mirror and sight feature for pinpont navigation in the field. While the name and features evolved over the years, one thing remained the same - Silva quality.

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary we are introducing a special edition model - built in the tradition of the first Ranger sold in the U.S., this limited edition compass features an aluminum bezel. The 0° to 360° dial has graduations every 2°. Also features geared declination adjustment, sighting mirror for 1° pinpoint accuracy, vee-sight in the lid, clinometer, map magnifier, luminous points for night use, and silicone feet. 1/20" and millimeter rules. 1:24,000 map scale. 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 Romer scales. Measures 2-1/2" x 4". Lanyard with adjustable slider and screwdriver included.
