Following on the success of the WINGStand Stanford student Daniel Haarburger launched his second Kickstarter project, the Handleband, a versatile solution that securely attaches any smartphone to a bike. The inspiration for the Handleband came when Haarburger was pulled over for biking after sunset with a faulty bike light. Instead of a ticket, the police officer gave him an interesting piece of advice: if you’re in a bind, use your smartphone as a bike light.

This series of ammunition cross-sections was photographed inside a WWII bunker in Switzerland in October of 2012. The entire series consists of 900 specimens. Sabine Pearlman was originally intrigued by the ambiguous nature of the subject matter. The cross-sections reveal a hidden complicity and beauty of form, which stands in vast contrast to the destructive purpose of the object. It's a representation of the evil and beautiful, a reflection of the human condition.
