Over the past several years Cube has relied on inhouse testing done in their own test lab which is beeing updated all the time. They measure the stress factors for a bicycle while being ridden. To get visible results out of the physics they use different sensors e.g. for acceleration positioned at the frame and the axles, travel measuring at the suspension elements and strain gauges at different places of the frame to detect the deformation of the tubes. Using their test machines they can calibrate their testbikes to deduct the forces and torque existing under real life conditions. All the data are saved and stored on a mass storage device and can be read and analyzed after the test ride. Because human riders can’t reproduce every ride with 100 % a camera films everything so they can see the part of the test course and can detect differing influences to the measured values.
